What I'm doing now
Inspired by Derek Sivers' /now page, I've started a new page to list what I'm currently focused on.
This is what I'd tell a friend I hadn't seen in a year.
Work
I am currently a team lead and senior software engineer at Prompt. They've easily been the best company I've ever worked for, and I'd strongly recommend anyone to apply to work there.
It's been a whirlwind year, going to PHP Tek, Laracon US, and the APTA Private Practice conference. The onsites have been a blast, and I've loved meeting so many new people. The company doubled in size this year, so there's been a lot of new faces to get to know.
I've also given my first talk, at a product onsite. It's made me want to do more public speaking, so I'm looking for more opportunities to do that.
Side projects
- This year, I've worked on several side projects, but launched nothing. I'm going to go through each of them and work on finishing them. Some highlights:
- SyncPad, a tool for effortlessly syncing data between devices.
- Web Actions, a service that turns forms into APIs.
- PromptSitter, an AI chat app for Mac, built with SwiftUI.
- Ferguson, a little hardware personal butler, using AI to listen and respond.
- Gingerbread, a freelance business management tool.
Personal
We moved to a bigger place, still in Idaho, and are settling in nicely. The apartment complex has a pool, gym, and clubhouse, and we've been making good use of those amenities.
Now that I'm with Prompt, we're looking to move to New Jersey next year, to be closer to the office.
